With a big influx of cash from parent company Qianjiang, Benelli has stepped out of the box and started building models that aren't powered by its range of three-cylinder engines. The bike that stands out the most is the BX 505 Enduro, a model introduced in Europe last year. Its engine is a short-stroke, dohc, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled Single with four titanium valves. The frame is an aluminum alloy perimeter unit with a progressively linked Sachs shock and a 50mm inverted fork. Also available: the BX 449 Cross, a smaller-displacement motocrosser built around the same chassis as the Enduro.
