The BMW brand is one of the world's most easily-recognized luxury car manufacturers. Founded in Germany, BMW originally made airplane engines before restrictions after World War I forced them to switch to automobiles. Since then, the company has enjoyed success and popularity as a worldwide brand. BMW numbers their models to indicate the size of the vehicle. Each basic car is customizable with a wide variety of features, but the overarching model is referred to as a series - for example, the 5 Series or the 3 Series. BMW's flagship is the 7 Series, which is a full-size luxury sedan. Most of BMW's innovations are first debuted with the sedan, like 7 Series Hydrogen, which is the world's first production-ready hydrogen-powered vehicle. While it has yet to be manufactured worldwide, several hundred cars have been built, which BMW has loaned to select executives.
