Abt brought its latest creation to the 2011 Geneva International Motor Show, an open-top version of the Abt R8 GT R called the Abt GT S. Starting with a Audi R8 5.2 FSI Convertible, Abt has replaced many of the car’s components with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) to make the car lighter without sacrificing durability. The front and rear aprons, windshield surround, rear air scoops, engine hood, and the mirrors have all been redesigned in the lightweight material. We know the Abt GT R is 220 pounds lighter than its stock counterpart, but Abt has not provided how much weight was shaved off of the Abt GT S.
